 Laura Burns Tanner is a Milledgeville native who graduated from Baldwin High School in 2004 with enough college credits to be classified as a Junior in College. She transferred to the University of Georgia in 2004, where she majored in Psychology and graduated Magna Cum Laude in December of 2005.  In, August of 2007, she enrolled in Law School at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Laura graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Coastal in December of 2009 and passed the Georgia Bar in February of 2010. 

She was sworn in to the Baldwin County Superior Court and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia in June of 2010 and was later sworn into the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia in October 20, 2010. She practiced for Burns & Burns, P.C. with her father, Joel Burns, until he retired in 2021.  She has expertise in the areas of Bankruptcy (Chapter 7 & Chapter 13 Bankruptcies), Real Estate, Estate Planning, Probate, Adoption, and Family Law, among other general practice areas.

Laura now resides with her husband, Holland Tanner, and her two daughters in Watkinsville, Georgia and she serves clients all across the Middle Georgia area.
